Alumni & Student Communications
Description
Alumni communications may include calendars, anniversary publications, event collateral (postcards, invitations, posters, etc.), alumni magazines that are published annually, or any other publication designed exclusively for an alumni audience.
Alumni magazines that are published more than once a year must be entered in Magazines. Collateral for events that serve multiple audiences should be entered in Special Event Collateral (9).
Entries inĀ Alumni & Student Communications may also be entered (for an additional entry fee) in Visual Design, Photography & Illustration or Writing.
Gold, Silver and Bronze awards may be given in this category. One Grand Gold award will be chosen from among all of the entries in categories 1-5 (Alumni Communications and Student Communications).

Judging criteria
Judges consider all aspects of a good publication including:
- Writing and editing
- Layout and design
- Photography and illustration
- Printing quality
- Originality and innovation
- Appropriateness to audience
- Use of resources
- Results
How to enter
Once you have submitted and paid for the entry using the online entry form, mail two copies of the entry to be judged along with a printout of your entry form to the Alumni & Student Communications judging coordinator:

A maximum of three related publications may be submitted as a single entry; for example an invitation, poster and program for an event or a series of advertisements. Entries composed of multiple publications will additionally be judged on how the related publications complement each other.
